- Dr. Martin Haynes was born in Barbados (1939). He attended Harrison College in Barbados and gained a Barbados Scholarship in Classics (1957). As a result, he attended Edinburgh University (Scotland) and practiced medicine and then continued on to post-graduate studies in surgery. Dr. Haynes has spent 40 years as a surgeon in Trinidad 1970-2010. his hobbies are writing (especially poetry) stamp collecting and is a keen golfer.
