Preysal is a unique village rich in history and traditions. However, like most
other areas in Trinidad and Tobago, Preysal is falling prey to modernization in
which infrastructural, technological and other developments are taking place at
a more than rapid rate. What was once a sleepy agricultural village with mud
houses, dirt roads and natural beauty catering mainly for the indentured Indian
immigrant labourers, has now given way to concrete structures, paved roads and
fast-paced living. Not surprisingly also is that the attitude and culture of what was
typical village life are also changing.
