Born the last of eight in South Trinidad, I worked in Education for twenty-nine years: teacher, Vice-principal, and Principal. My qualifications: B.A in Sociology, Dip. Ed, Masters in Education, and Ph.D. in Education, among others, prepared me for classroom life and the school environment. These educational qualifications also outfitted me with a theoretical understanding of the experiential knowledge I gained while educating our children. My passion and interest have always been advocating for quality education. This has now extended into my retirement years through my writing. For me, it has always been about the children and putting them first. The focus of my writing is on parenting as a means of sensitizing adults about critical issues that affect children. This is the only way children can be given the best chance to reach their maximum potential to be the best version of themselves and productive members of our society.
